A Runny Nose Won’t Stop This Show!

This has been 1 very interesting week! We went down to my hometown in southeastern Georgia for the 4th of July weekend and we came back on Monday. Well, while we were down there, Aiden seemed like he was coming down with a little cold or something. We figured it was just a change of climate that was affecting him and assumed (well at least I did) that he would miraculously get better when we got back home. As you can imagine, that was not the case.

SURPRISE!

He’s still a little under the weather, but I swear he’s not acting like it. I mean…he totally looks sick at times but you wouldn’t be able to tell that he was sick if you saw him playing! I don’t really know how I was expecting him to act during this week though. I guess, I’m just going off of how he looks and expecting him to be all extra whiney and dragging (which would make it a lot easier to keep up with him, by the way). However that is sooo not the case! He’s just like our own little Energizer bunny! He just keeps “going and going”! My gosh, it’s like there’s no off button on him! And now add that never ending energy with his newfound mobility and your result is one very tired mother at the end of the day! We don’t have a gate for him yet and trust me when I say that will need to be corrected very soon! Every time I think I have him entertained enough to where he will stay in one place, I turn around just to find him on the opposite side of the room from where I left him!

CRAZINESS!!!

And it doesn’t matter how many toys I put in front of him, he will still find a way to get away from them and go over to the stuff that is off limits! Seriously, the way he moves, you would think the oven, lamp, and plant are all sitting there singing “Aiden, come here and play with meeee!” I swear I will never understand that, even though I’m probably sure I did the same thing at his age. (The child clearly had to get that habit from somewhere! Lol!)

The sad part about all of this is that, as I am sitting here typing this, I’m slowly feeling the beginning stages of a cold setting in on myself. Oh the joys of being a parent! What better way can you think of to share your love than by passing your germs all throughout your household?! I’m starting to think that Aiden plotted this very scenario (possibly even with the oven, lamp, & plant that I mentioned earlier)! The good thing about this is that if I actually do get sick, it will be during a free weekend when we surprisingly have nothing to do!

Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it now, so I guess I might as well gulp down some Vitamin C & prepare for the upcoming onslaught of sneezes & coughs! I’ll keep you updated on how this works out for us!
