Well, I’ll give you a hint…it’s not me. (at least not this time! Lol!)
We have been waiting (impatiently, might I add) for Aiden to crawl for quite some time now. And in true Aiden fashion, he has made us wait until he was good and ready to do it. We thought he was about to do it sometime last month, because he had finally started getting on his hands and knees, but alas, all he would do is fake us out by rocking back and forth and then plopping down on his belly. We tried everything we could to get him moving, even getting on the floor with him and showing him how to do it properly. Needless to say, all this would get us was a bunch of laughs from him.
But for some reason, last week must have been a turning point in his baby life. Maybe it was the fact that he turned 9 months or maybe it was the fact that he got tired of seeing all of the other babies moving past him as he sat on the floor at daycare. Who knows what the trigger was! I just know that one day I put him down to play with his toys and something different happened. One of his toy balls rolled away from him, and as I was about to get up to get it for him, he started moving towards it. I almost cried! Our little guy was FINALLY crawling! Another baby book milestone to note! I was happy that he was showing this new independence but I was also a little sad because that meant that he was growing up even more. When I think back on it though, I don’t really know what I was so sad about. We had already started thinking that he was going to walk and just totally skip the crawling phase. So if I was prepared for the walking, why be sad over the crawling? Guess it’s these crazy mommy emotions running amuck again! Lol!
Anywho, now our days are just a bit more entertaining because instead of the normal diaper changing, messy feedings, and playtime, I now have to add “low-speed” chases into the mix. Yeah, I said “low-speed” chases because he can’t go that fast yet. His dad calls it a robotic crawl! Lol! I think he’s getting the hang of it now though. I wonder what’s going to be next for him. Maybe next month, he’ll surprise us by getting up and walking out of the room or something. Who knows with this child! Every day is full of surprises around here and I just love waking up with the anticipation of the craziness that I may have to endure that day!

YAY!!! He has about 60 days to start crawling and uncle J will be very happy!
