We went to a Christian bookstore the other day and saw these cute flowers that had different words like “peace”, “hope”, and “faith” on them along with bible verses that referenced those words. They were solar flowers so whenever you put them in the sunlight, they were supposed to dance back and forth. Well…when Mr. A saw the flowers, he went a little crazy by saying “My flower” over and over again! So…we purchased it.
We gave it to him to play with when we got home (mainly because he started that “My flower” chant again!) He took the flower into his playroom and, within 5 minutes, we heard the dreaded “Uh-oh flower!” (never a good sign when you have a 2 year old running around!) As we turned we saw a scene similar to the pendulum balls episode from a couple of weeks ago.
The poor flower did not stand a chance against a 2 year old Mr. A! It wasn’t in the house for 5 minutes before he made a clean break of it. We have no idea how he did it but we do know we could not save the poor flower! Oh well…I guess we need to just look at it as another parenting lesson that we’ve learned. You can’t always fall for the cute face and begging! (Secretly, we’ve known about this lesson for a while, but now we have physical evidence for why we say no to future requests!)
But seriously, who would have thought this cute face could have done anything wrong?! (Sarcasm) 😉
