Trying out the Big Boy Table

Mr. A and I were getting ready to enjoy a wonderful snack time, recently when he decided that he wanted to do something different.

Of course, I passed him his yogurt, as usual.

I think he was telling me he was enjoying it.

But, of course, like I mentioned, there was something a little different about this snack time.

The difference is, of course, that he decided he didn’t want to sit in his “eat eat chair” (high chair). He decided he could handle the regular adult sized table in the kitchen.

Yes, our little guy climbed up in the chair by himself, and proceeded to have the cleanest snack break I’ve ever seen! (I’m still confused by this, by the way!) ;)

His feet didn’t quite touch the ground (by a long shot) but he felt that he had a handle on things!

Since he looked happy and wasn’t using the yogurt to paint my table, I decided to let him stay there and enjoy himself.

Then, he decided to show off for the camera! (He’s clearly my kid!)

And then, he decided to turn around and say “Bye eat eat chair!”(Wishful thinking, hunh?)

Now, of course, he’s not going to completely leave it but it was nice to see him learning how to sit at a table so high and not make a mess. Sure, he does it at his pre-school but that’s different because those tables are his size. I’m glad he can also do this without falling. Of course, we’ll continue monitoring him whenever he wants to do this but I’m proud of the little guy. (Can you tell I’m a first time Mommy?) ;)

  1. Cutie pie! My daughter was the worst at sitting in a high chair. I sold it on craigslist before she was even 1 years old and bought a little kids table. Often I sit at it with her for a snack :)

Thank you! Hmmm…a little kids table sounds like an awesome idea for him. We have to look into this idea. Should be funny to see if I can get down to the table with him. Lol!

  2. Very cute! Loved those pics! I have a 4 yr old son and it is so fun watching him grow. Everything is new and exciting. Enjoy mama!
