Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Distracted Eating

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that we were finally going to start trusting Mr. A by letting him “graduate” from his high chair. We knew he could do it because he sits at  a regular table at school. However, my 2 big concerns were:

  1. He didn’t have a table that was his size and
  2. Would he stay seated at the table?

Well the 1st concern was taken care of when he received a table for Christmas. So we put it together and he loved it as soon as he saw it. The first day he tested it out, my second concern re-surfaced, as you can see from the pictures below. However, I’m wondering if he would have been as distracted if Mommy wasn’t in his face with a camera? Oops! ;)

He started at the table...

Then, he decided eating standing up would be more fun...

He even posed for a picture...

Then the distraction began with a "What's that Mommy?"

And he finally ended with snatching my camera!

  1. Yay for the right-sized table! We bought one for my daughter after she turned 1 and she is 4 and still uses it daily for meals and projects.

I remember now! You were one of the ones who originally told me about the right-sized table and it is definitely a hit! Thank you again for your suggestion! He really does love it! :)

  2. Our boys look to be about the same age…aren’t they just amazing at this stage?
We have a similar table, but it’s in his room for craft projects and reading.

Yep they are Joyce. Mine turned 2 at the end of September, not too far ahead of your son. They are pretty fun at this age. He likes to use his table to color at and work on his puzzles as well! Very fun!

  3. Love the I am a big kid now expression!

Getting a child-sized table and chairs set is one of the best investments a parent can make! My daughter never would sit in a highchair, so we had to get her a table at a little over 12 months of age. Mr. A looks like he did such a good job on his first try, even with a camera in his face ;) He really does have the best smile!

  6. He is so stinkin’ cute. That earns him a free pass from the table in my book. :)

    So cute…he loves it.

We use booster seats at our table. That way, they sit with us, but they can be buckled if necessary (not so much now), and they fit in the seat better, and they are at the right height.
